Jazz dance is a dynamic expressive dance form. It is characterized by improvisation, isolations, intricate footwork, syncopated rhythms and a strong connection to the music. Jazz dance has evolved from social dances and stage performances, incorporating elements of various styles and techniques.

Although a technical regulated Jazz syllabus is taught in the Academy, many styles can branch off from the Jazz style giving a much wider scope for choreography and performances
